“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.” – Psalm 3:3

Father, the imagery of this verse is beautiful. I imagine being in a scene with chaos and destruction (much like what we see in the world today), and in the midst Your shield has protected me and provided a shelter from the war.

But the best part is Your presence; You are right there next to me and when I find myself consumed and deflated from the fighting I know is happening, Your loving hands cradle my face, lift up my head, and I hear You say, “My child, I love you.”

There is no better Father than You. There is no greater Protector than You. I don’t deserve the best, not even close, but here You are once again, providing me with it. Thank you, Father. Amen.
